Wordless Wednesday

What is it?
LLB and her friend A, were mucking around in the creek yesterday and came up with this little item. It stands on 3 feet. It is probably made of iron as it is extremely heavy and rusty. As soon as it dries out, I'm bringing it inside to use as a stand for the other lovely I found last year:

LLB wants a metal detector for Christmas. I'm thinking it might be a good idea....

I hope you post what you'll use it for later....after you've placed it where you want it to go along with the decor! That's cool.

    My W W is posted.

  2. It took me a minute to figure out that you had it placed on your patio table...at first I was wondering why it was sitting in a pool of water when you were trying to dry it out! LOL

  6. I see a lot of people using metal detectors at the beach. I always wonder if they are finding anything. It looks like a fun hobby.

  12. It could be a plate of a forge.
Like a flat anvil for working on finer things like chain links (not like necklaces, I mean chains like you secure things with.)
It could also be a boiler stand.

Boiler stands had two uses. one on a wood stove for putting a dutchoven on.
And two for a platform in a fireplace for setting a pot to boil on.
