I thought I'd share a few photos with you this morning.

This is a sunset that I saw on the way home from our vacation.
I took LLB to school yesterday morning and when I was coming home, I saw the moon. It was gorgeous!
This is a field near my house... Those black things -- those are cows.

This little tree frog got very confused. He thought my back door was a tree.

I just got my power back. It was off for a few hours over night.

My friend R just got her air conditioner back yesterday. It was a long hot week for her. I sure hope she kept her power. She has suffered enough! She deserved a nice cool night of uninterrupted sleep.

Well, I best get my chores started. LLB's party is tonight and I've got a bunch of things to get done including but not limited to: vacuum the family room, put up the tent, freeze an ice ring, prepare the fire pit, etc.

So, I try to be wordless...
LLB has a project that involves photography.
She has to take a picture of something in nature and then pair it with a poem - either original or from a book.

I sent her out with my camera the other day.
She took some awesome shots.

Her all time favorite of a daffodil. I have to admit - this is wonderful!!

I can't wait to see what she comes up with for a poem.

Since I have not done a real WW in a few weeks, I decided to post 3 pictures today.

This is my odometer - it reads my birth month and year. How often is that going to happen?? LLB took the picture while we were driving through town. I'm sure the people behind us were wondering why the flash kept going off in our car!

This little fellow was chowing down on nut when I was at the bus stop. I was bored so I rolled the window down, pulled the lens out as far as it would go, and snapped his picture.

This is another "bus stop boredom" picture. These vulture-like creatures were chowing down on a dead thing. The two in the center left seemed to be discussing their meal. I wonder if they are the bird world's carrion critics.

It's a toy mouse. Don't hyperventilate out there...

Mini Kitty - aka: Poppy - loves this thing. She carries it around. She bats it. She pounces on it. She attempts to drown it - or give it a bath (your choice) - at least 2 times each and every day. It's not so bad that she tries to drown it, except that she always tries to kill it in Zebbie's water bowl.

The poor dog will NOT drink out of a bowl with a mouse in it - even if it is a toy. He's got scruples...

Mr. and I picked up the kids at camp on Monday. When we dropped them off, we had one girl and one boy. When we picked them up, they gave us these:

So, I intended to paint...
But the (insert expletive here) pink wallpaper took 3+ hours to remove. I have removed all kinds of wallpaper in this house (and the last one) and it never took that long to remove that little bit of paper.

The wall paper was only on the bottom of the wall under the chair rail... It was so frustrating (read: I whined so much) that Mr. helped me out. That puky pink paper must have been installed by an overzealous paper hanger 21 years ago when the house was built. It was so stuck in a couple of places that I have to repair the wall!!!

Oh and did I mention that it also had some kind of a coating on it, because it had to come off in two layers. The pink layer and then the paper layer. You all remember that I don't DO wet paper... it's one of my "issues".

Fortunately, I have the sweetest husband in the world. He picked up all the wet paper for me.

We finished the paper stripping, wall washing, and cleaning up at 3:15 yesterday afternoon. The paint is currently sitting in cans on my kitchen counter.

I found the cable to the camera!!

First Grandpa mows the grass. He loves the tractor - it sure beats a push mower!!

Yet another Wordy Wednesday

So I still haven't found the cable to our camera. It's around. I'll find it. I think Mr. might have it tucked away someplace safe...

I don't have a green thumb. Heck - it's not even light green. It's black. I am not good with plants - not at all. But, since Grandpa is here and he does have a very green thumb, I thought I'd get some plants. I'll get them and he can plant them. I like that little scenario. Grambug and I are going to hit the plant sale at the elementary school today. They have great plants for little cash. This is perfect for someone like me - I can pick what I like and if they don't make it, it's not big deal -- I've made a lovely donation to the school. :-)

You know what else I might do today (besides laundry)? I might paint my front door. I know I just painted it red last year, but I don't think I like it. It's too... I dunno... red. I'm going for black this time. How does that sound?
