If you sign your kid up for an activity, isn't it your responsibility to get your kid there?
This lady signed her kid up for the same jazz camp that my two are attending. She wanted to carpool. I declined. My kids aren't friends with her kid. We don't go past her house to get to the place. She wouldn't bring mine all the way home because she'd have to pass her house to get mine home.
One more tidbit of information: She's a teacher at LLB's school. LLB will never have the pleasure of having this woman for a teacher (thank GOD!!).
She called the other night and insisted we carpool. Mr. took the call and basically said, "No thanks". I saw her at the school yesterday and she is furious with me. Alas, I don't care.
Should I?

uhhhh... no. I can't believe she's angry because you wouldn't give in and carpool with her! The nerve of some people really amaze me sometimes.
Well. I don't think she has a right to be ANGRY because you won't... and yes, I do think she has a responsibility to "get her child there" -- but I don't think that making arrangements to carpool is neglecting that responsibility either. It sounds like there might be "other" hostility issues between you and maybe it would be better for her to carpool with someone ELSE though.
Since you don't care I guess you shouldn't care.
Furious with you? Seems a little unstable. You shouldn't let people like that into your life.
Melli - No hostility issues. I barely know the woman. I met her 2 or 3 weeks before school got out.
Barbara - It is amazing how many "odd" people I know... I was just discussing this with my Mom the other day! LOL!!
I don't think you should feel bad at all. If she is angry that is HER problem. She asked to carpool, you declined (very nicely I am sure), case closed. I really have a hard time understanding some people.
Just smile real big next time you see her say hello and you will "heap coals of fire upon her head" (that's a Biblical quote!!)!!!!
I seems crazy to me to be so upset over not carpooling. She may be one of those people who enjoys being angry.
Carpooling, by its very definition, means that whoever is picking up picks up from your home and drops off at your home. The fact that she wants you to pick up your kids at HER house when she's carpooling means she only wants it to be convenient for HER. No, you definitely shouldn't care!
In a word: NO!!!
Uh, no!
And what a bitch!
oh the drama of school... it never ends!
