Love is in the Air...

It's been a wild ride here at the crossing. #1 Son is in looooove. He has been the perfect child since Friday. Just so you know, I've been waiting for the other shoe to drop since he got home from the dance on Friday afternoon. Alas, no shoe.

He is totally smitten with this new girl. I'll call her Emily. You remember her mother is a teacher at the school. I wasn't sure if this was a good thing, but now I think it's great. There are eyes everywhere at school :-) Many eyes keep hormones in check.

#1 Son called his sweet Emily on Sunday afternoon. The boy obviously learned to talk on the phone from his mother. He talked -- and I mean really talked -- to her for over an hour. When I finally put my foot down and told him that he'd talked enough, he very nicely told her that I needed the phone. He walked over and said, "Ah...6 min." (The phone tells you how long you talk.) I laughed. I said, "Try an hour and 6 min."
He said, "Oh, cool."

Yesterday he came home from school still floating...

Ahh.. young love...

Well if you will remember the article that I wrote on my PUPPY LOVE...I was really in love when I was about that age. I still remember it so well. I always will. That first one is something. I first met my hubby at the age of 14 and we started dating at 16 and well you know the "rest of the story"!! It is a great time in his life!! I can remember how he feels. How wonderful for him...New time in your life too...remember MOM????

That is so sweet. I can't even imagine the puppy love stage with my son. But, I'm sure it will be here before I know it!

Ohhhhh, I remember my first little boyfriend...all was well until I got word that he was going to try to kiss me after school. I was clearly Ms. McPrude because I dumped him before last period.
I should have stuck to that way of thinking until much later in life...:)

my middle schooler, Andy, is just discovering he's got an eye for the ladies. It's so funny. You're going to be amazed at how much you will revile this little female person when they tell each other to pound salt and he's crushed. It's not pretty.
