It's Almost Pahty Time

LLB's birthday was in April.

We didn't have a party for her because we were just too busy. She totally understood when we pushed it off until after school gets out.
We also couldn't figure out what kind of party to have.
Yes, we needed a theme. These things can't be rushed, you know.
And no we couldn't think of anything good until now...

LLB has decided to have a spa sleepover party. (There are currently 15 on the list and I'm hoping that most umm... I mean some of them can't make it.)
Yes I'm insane. I may have to check myself into the local loony bin sooner than I thought.

A friend of mine is a Mary Kay lady - a very BRAVE Mary Kay lady. She's going to come out and show the girls how to take care of their skin and how to apply makeup correctly. You know... so they don't look like Tammy Faye or Elvira. Then, if it's a nice night, the girls can do pedicures and nails out on the back deck.

Of course I know that that's not enough to keep these invitees busy , so we'll do smores around the campfire once it gets dark. And then, to make sure they get good and tired, they can play flashlight tag on the back 40 (until they can't run one more step...)

I'd personally like to put all of them in a tent for the night, but our tent only sleeps 4. Hmmm... can you fit 15 girls in one tent?? They are small, right? I guess I could stack them like sardines... I may try to find a cheapo tent at our local mega-discount store. Then I can leave them out there with the dog - for protection against bears and other critters of the dark that might find little girl ankles just the right size to gnaw on. Yup, I'm likin' that idea. I'm not sure the dog will like it, but it's certainly worth a try.

So I have a couple of weeks to psych myself up for this. Any words of wisdom besides "run for the hills"??

I want a facial and a pedicure. That is the perfect party. Also, sticking lots of girls outside in a tent-- it either increases the screaming or makes it so you can't hear it. 15-- wow, that is quite the list.

RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN - run now while there is still time!! Sounds like fun - for you - not me - if it were me I'd have to start smoking crack...again.

Your plans sound really good for the party. Course I'm running a few years behind you and my DD tends to keep her friends all occupied on her own.
Check with your friends (or the girl's families) to see if you can borrow a larger tent...or have multiple tents. Or worst case, move all the furniture in the living room to the side walls and have the girls crash on the floor. I'm sure that Zebbie will be happy to protect the girls for you.

Buy wine (for you, not the girls). Seriously, I can't even imagine. It's when I read things like this that I KNOW why God gave me boys.

Praying for a smooth and memorable event.

You are either very brave, or very stupid. I'm not sure yet.

My advice. Valium and a few cocktails.

My Princess had a spa party in January and it was a raging success. The cake I made was just amazing, here is the link for the recipe/decorating idea. We did something a little unusual too. Since it was so close to Christmas Princess didn't need anything so we decided on a "White Elephant" party. Everyone bought a $5 gift and we played pass the parcel so that everyone got a gift and I didn't have to do goodie bags. Lazy me, I know.

Have fun
