Ding Dong Dirty!

I hate stupid people and I hate people who touch my stuff without asking.

Today was the first day of class for my handbell students. I arrived early and hauled the bells out of the closet. The closet was not as we had left it in June. I was NOT happy. I pack that closet a certain way to make sure everything fits correctly and nothing will attack when the door is opened.

Those bells -- They gained the 10 lbs I've been trying to lose... I swear they weren't this heavy when I put them in the closet in June.

I loaded them on the elevator and sent them up a level.

We unloaded the elevator and slid them into the classroom.
I opened the cases - I know why they weigh more.. they are totally tarnished! Someone used them and didn't polish them when they put them away. I am furious!! Okay, I am beyond furious!!!

The kids and I tried to clean them up a little before we put them away, but we didn't have enough polishing cloths. We will do some on Wednesday... Instead of getting more playing time, the kids now have to spend time polishing. It really isn't fair!

I am going to hunt down the culprit and if I find out who made a mess of my bells, they will be polishing each and every one of those little bronze beauties... with their tongues! Okay so maybe not with their tongues, but you get my drift...

Why can't people just leave my stuff alone?

They probably didn't know they needed to be polished if they played with them. I certainly wouldn't have. Then again I wouldn't have opened something that did not belong to me either.

Can you store them at home next summer?

I'm with Barbara -- I wouldn't have known about the polishing, but I also wouldn't be touching other people's stuff!

I know about the polishing and I would be very angry too! I know our music director would have someone's head on a platter if someone messed with her bells.

Seems to be in the air though. At Dh's job they put a generator out at 2pm on Thursday and by 2pm on Friday it was gone! This is the 3rd generator that has been stolen. They found this one...the Army guys had taken it and claimed they thought it was theirs. A brand new generator left in the AF area was theirs? I don't think so! Oh well they got this one back.

Oh and Office Depot messed up again. it never ends.

And yeah you don't want the culprits to use their tongue to clean the bells as that would make them worse.

I hope you're able to get them cleaned.

People, don't touch the handbells. I don't know why that is so difficult. I mean, HI! that is why they ae played wearing gloves. Ugh! Good Luck with that.

Oh I can't imagine...I know how much maintenance is required to keep up with those bells.

Maybe you could teach a fishing class. Nobody wants to mess with worms.
